Welcome to Drayton State School

As Principal of Drayton State School, I would like to welcome you to our extended family.  We have a dedicated staff and community that work tirelessly for the betterment of outcomes.  Situated on the outskirts of Toowoomba within the Darling Downs South West Queensland Region, Drayton State School is well resourced to cater for your child's every need.

Drayton State School is a magnificent school that showcases the pride, history and exceptional achievements of the wonderful people of the Drayton community.  As the second oldest school in Queensland, we have had a rich history and tradition of providing an excellent curriculum and learning environment in all subject areas for all students.

We provide the fine balance between large and small schools – we are big enough to cater for the diverse needs of our students whilst being small enough to know exactly what those needs are for each and every child.  In addition, we work with a cluster-based Special Education Programme based at Drayton SS.
The comfort you feel when you enter our school, the smiles on the children’s faces, the high standards of behaviour and the academic achievement data all tell the story of what we value at Drayton.  I am extremely proud of our record here and I look forward to sharing your child's learning journey together.

Should you require any further information about our school, please phone Administration on (07) 4637 7444, contact us via or drop in for a visit.

Kind Regards,

 Aleksandr Taylor-Gough

Carole Douglas is acting Principal at present.
