At Drayton State School, we use research-based pedagogy (the method and practice of teaching) to meet the diverse learning needs of students, teaching the Australian Curriculum. Our classes are structured to support students, whilst establishing teaching team cohorts for our teaching and non-teaching staff.

Current class structure aligns to the bands of the Australian Curriculum. We have one x Prep class, two x Year 1/2 classes, three x Year 3/4 classes, and three x Year 5/6 classes. Teaching teams meet regularly with the school's leadership team and key support staff to plan for engaging and challenging learning opportunities. We also have specialist teachers on a part-time basis for Health and Physical Education: Physical Activity, and The Arts: Drama and Music. Our Support Teacher: Literacy and Numeracy (ST:LaN) also works with classroom teachers to develop universal and differentiated supports for our students.
