Background

Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) is an organisational framework which draws on the principles of implementation science and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) to select culturally appropriate evidence-based practices to support all students and to help schools achieve their school improvement goals. PBL is a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework which can be used to improve academic, wellbeing and behavioural outcomes. PBL uses a problem-solving model to examine relevant data, determine desired outcomes, and establish systems and practices to achieve identified goals.

Research

A growing body of research in schools shows reductions in behavioural incidents, academic gains, improvements to wellbeing, a more positive school climate and increased perceptions of school safety when PBL is implemented as intended
